yes. exactly that. i'm glad it was not soap opera-ish. idk this reaction really grabbed my attention. most fics border on the extremes in situations like this (i.e. omg get out now you shameful son or omg i knew since you were a child plz go shopping with me) OTL but although this reaction was more on the "neutral" side of things, for lack of a better word, his family's reaction still hurt. /o/
