todefinebeauty; i'm so sorry like you don't know that this turned out as pointless as it did :/
"What the fuck happened last night?"
"I think…"
"Did we have sex?"
"It looks like…"
"Tell me this is not happening."
"It…"
"Oh, fuck. Everything. Just, fuck."
And so it happens one morning that Youngwoon and Sungmin wake up naked beside each other in the same bed with only a hazy recollection of how they'd gotten there the night before, and neither of them are particularly elated about it.
… …
"So." Youngwoon positions himself awkwardly against the door of the room that Sungmin shares with Kyuhyun. He looks like he has something on his mind that he needs to speak out, so Sungmin puts down his guitar and settles down to listen.
"Uh," Youngwoon begins.
"About last night," Sungmin says encouragingly, sounding a lot more willing to talk about it than he actually is.
"Yeah. Look, uh, so neither of us meant it to happen, right?"
Sungmin mmm's in reply.
"Let's just forget it, yeah?"
Sungmin shrugs. "That works."
"Good." Youngwoon looks relieved, maybe. "It's not like we can remember much about it, anyway."
Sungmin does remember, a little bit. He remembers the look on Youngwoon's face when he'd orgasmed. But that, he supposes, is a trifling detail.
"I'll see you tomorrow," Youngwoon says.
"Yup, see you tomorrow, hyung."
It ends there, or at least they think it does. As he walks away, Youngwoon's remembering the smoothness of Sungmin's back. It's strange that he's beginning to remember it now. Stranger still that he should remember how pleasant it had been to stroke it. But that, he supposes, is a memory that will be forgotten soon.
… …
Despite all resolutions to the contrary, they tiptoe around each other for days anyway. Weeks, Heechul says with a half-smirk that Youngwoon really hates him for because it implies that Heechul knows things Youngwoon does not.
"Don't act like you know something I don't, hyung."
"Maybe it's not so much something that you don't know but something that you don't want to know."
"And what is this thing that I don't want to know? Let's hear it."
"You know what," Heechul says, looking at him over the samgyupsal that Youngwoon has barely touched on the pretext that he's more in the mood for bulgogi, "you weren't really that drunk."
"Whatever, hyung."
"Sure," Heechul says, and brings the uneaten grilled pork back to the dorm for the benefit of the others' heartier appetites.
… …
"…pop up from below in the front stage for a short dance and then we'll separate and you really aren't listening to anything I'm saying, are you, hyung?"
Sungmin wakes up from his trance to see Donghae staring at him accusingly. When Donghae stares accusingly, the person stared at will usually feel bad. Sungmin feels bad now.
"No, I was," he says, and forces his mind into recall. "You were talking about Don't Don."
Donghae sighs, and Sungmin knows he got it wrong.
"Sorry. I was listening, really. It's just…"
"You started thinking about Kangin hyung instead," Donghae finishes, and Sungmin really wants to cut him down with an indignant negative but he's too honest to lie so blatantly.
"You know," Donghae says, resting his chin on his knees, "you and Kangin hyung are getting kind of ridiculous about this."
"Ridiculous? Kangin hyung and me?" Sungmin says, trying to work his mind around the fact that Donghae had just called him ridiculous.
"Yeah. In case you didn't notice, but I'm sure you have, you haven't talked to each other at all since that night…"
"We talked the next day," Sungmin says, and Donghae quirks his eyebrow at him disbelievingly. "We agreed that we were going to forget it."
Donghae snorts. "Doing a good job of that, aren't you, hyungie?"
"Shut up," says Sungmin, taking a swig of his soju. He pauses, considers for a moment, and looks up right in the middle of a sensitive thought to see Donghae making sceptical faces at him.
"Yeah?" Donghae says. "Anything you want to share with me, hyung? I'm always willing to listen, you know."
"Nothing," Sungmin says shortly. "And stop acting wise, it doesn't suit you."
… …
Youngwoon calls Sungmin two days later and arranges a meeting with him to 'talk about things'. Sungmin knows that Jungsu was probably the orchestrator of this arrangement; Jungsu who has gotten exasperated with their tip-toeing and has issued a command to Youngwoon to get it fixed before he steps in himself. Sungmin doesn't want Jungsu stepping in any more than Youngwoon does, and so he agrees to meet Youngwoon that night at the pub where he knows Youngwoon gets discounts for being a regular patron.
They start off pretty well, but it turns out that six discounted beers later, Youngwoon says "Screw this talking shit" and then they're not talking anymore.
… …
The second time they wake up naked beside each other in bed, they know exactly how they got there and both of them are trying to conceal their elation. Sungmin moves away from Youngwoon's arm and peers with some resignation at the ceiling.
"I guess this is a problem," he says.
"No, it's not," Youngwoon objects, attempting bluster. "Nothing is wrong. We just forgot ourselves, that's all."
"More forgetting, hyung?"
Sungmin's looking at him and Youngwoon has to tell himself to stop staring at Sungmin's beautifully shaped mouth. "We got bored," he says.
Sungmin purses his lips and frowns and Youngwoon suddenly fidgets because he's feeling a tightening in an area that isn't supposed to be tightening.
Then he forgets completely about what is or isn't supposed to be happening because Sungmin's pressing that beautifully shaped mouth against his and he tastes just as good as he had the night before when Youngwoon had been half-drunk and telling himself that there was really nothing in the world that he wanted to do more than Sungmin at that very moment.
"I had a good time last night, Youngwoon," Sungmin says, pulling himself up from the bed and dressing himself and leaving Youngwoon still breathless and three thirds of the way in love.
… …
"So, this thing…"
"Oh, that thing. Yes, tell me about it." Heechul actually puts away his phone. Youngwoon is discomfited. It's easier, somehow, to talk about such things when the person you're talking to is looking at his phone.
"Yeah," he begins again. "Sungminnie and I, well."
"You slept together again." Heechul doesn't ask. He just states.
"It's weird," Youngwoon says. "It's not like I haven't slept with anyone before…"
"I would say not."
"But it just feels better with him. Somehow. Stop judging, you practically pushed us together."
"I pushed you," Heechul says smugly, "but only because you were already in motion. Don't think I didn't notice the lustful gazes you two were giving each other long before you ended up in bed together."
Youngwoon is quiet for a moment. "He calls me 'Youngwoon' just before he comes," he says.
"Yeah?"
"It sounds good, hyung."
"Oh god," Heechul says. "Just letting you know, this is positively the last time you're telling me the intimate details of your bed activities."
"Still sounds good."
"Youngwoon."
"What?"
"Youngwoon."
"Doesn't work when it comes from you."
… …
"How does it feel?" Donghae's all agog.
"I'm going to pretend you never asked me this."
"What? Why? I'm just curious. I've never slept with someone I really liked, you know, and everyone in books and movies say that there's supposed to be a difference."
"I don't really like…" Sungmin begins, but stops because Donghae fake yawns. "Fine," he corrects. "There's just one thing I'll tell you. The after is better than the during."
Donghae makes a thoughtful sounding noise.
"What was the longest you ever stayed in the morning?"
"About half an hour, I think."
Sungmin shrugs to prove his point. The situation is, he thinks, that if Youngwoon hadn't had an early morning schedule that day, they'd probably still be in bed.
… …
"I like it when you call me 'Youngwoon'."
"Thought so."
"Do you do it on purpose?"
"Yup."
Youngwoon pulls his head back slightly to take a look at Sungmin's face. "Just so you know, you suck at lying."
Sungmin laughs. "Does it matter? I like saying it, you like hearing it, that's all that's important."
"I like other things too," Youngwoon says with an unembarrassed leer.
"Good," says Sungmin, so confidently and prettily that it makes Youngwoon fidget for, he calculates, the third time since they ended up here eight hours ago. He's quite impressed with himself.
"I won't be taking any objections," he says as he positions himself over Sungmin, working his hands underneath his body to stroke that goddamn beautiful back.
"Won't be making any," Sungmin says, and kisses his shoulder when he comes.
